I somehow haven’t written a What’s In My Bag post since October 2020 when I covered all of the bits and bobs in my hiking backpack (remember when I used to go hiking every weekend??) despite using a few old favorite bags and purchasing new ones for my collection! I’ve always loved watching these types of YouTube videos and reading the same category of blog posts because I’m the nosiest bitch around (I love rifling through my Hawaiʻi BFF Brandon’s bag contents in the meantime whenever I can). I went through phases of only using my mom’s Madewell Zip-Top Transport Crossbody I stole many moons ago (last seen here), my Madewell Zip-Top Transport Tote (last seen here), or my Abolish Prisons, No New Jails canvas tote (last seen here) with every outfit, but I started fancying colorful and fun purses last year. I added a few new bag/purse options to my collection through Poshmark scouring and via Ross for the above featured green rubber carryall! I found this green rubber bag in the pet section of my local Ross when my partner and I were looking for pet wipes to clean our many furry animals’ paws. For a massive steal at $10, I imagined myself Polly Pocket (unsurprisingly my favorite toy growing up) styling the purse with the colorful pieces in my wardrobe. And since I haven’t showcased the items in my bags since the start of COVID, I felt now was as good a time as any to do so! I downsized the essentials I carry quite a bit—you’ll notice there’s no massive leather journal in this bag as there was in every other one before her (she’s not gone forever, she lives in my home office desk!) because it wouldn’t be practical to keep a 6 pound notebook in my mini green bag made of plastic. Instead, I keep the true must haves: my mom’s Madewell wallet; my small makeup bag filled with my everyday products and tools like my all-time favorite Revlon Kiss Balm Lip Balm in Berry Burst, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Macadamia, NARS Lipstick in Dolce Vita, L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara, Chloé Rollerball, L’Oreal Brow Stylist Shape and Fill in Dark Brunette, Covergirl TruBlend Pressed Powder, and powder and blush brushes; movie tickets to Past Lives and Barbie; house keys on a little Baylor keychain my partner bought for me to encourage me to carry my keys around; a Baylor mask; and a mini essentials bag with tampons, Visine, a sweet little note from my mom, Pepto Bismol, rubber bands, hand sanitizer, Lactaid, Wet Ones, and AirPods. And of course I had to accessorize my green bag with my most beloved Zara satin scarf!
