What I Wore On My First Day of Work

My first day of work outfit

J.Crew top, Old Navy pants, J.Crew shoes, Madewell bag, Daniel Wellington watch, Hawaii Bookmark earrings

I did it, everyone! I made it through my first day of my grown ass woman job with not so much as an utterance of my complete discomfort and anxiety throughout the seven hours in office. Can you believe? As soon as I was hired, I instantly felt overwhelmed by a combination of relief and severe fear about the new chapter I was about to enter. I know I spent the past four months complaining and whining about how no one will ever hire me and I’m the least desirable candidate ever and all that messy BS, but now that I finally made it to my first day, I wanted to hide at home forever. Yes, I will continue my weekly therapy sessions. Anyway, the best way to psyche myself up over my first day was to choose the perfect outfit that conveyed my personality and felt comfortable enough to sit in all afternoon and I think I found all that in this look! I purchased this adorable floral top that features yellow and green flowers because I loved the unexpected colorful pattern. I paired the top with my new favorite pair of navy pixie pants from Old Navy– the most comfortable and stretchy pants I’ve ever worn. I’ve loved this style of pant for years now as I wore them throughout my summer stint at Macy’s in 2016 and every season of Baylor football without even a tear or hole. The pants perfectly matched my top and made for a professional yet wearable first day look. I finished my outfit with my oversized Madewell tote (where I fit my laptop, planner, thick ass notebook, chargers, wallet, pencil case, makeup bag, and leftover KISS nails), my Daniel Wellington watch and my Mauna A Wākea earrings, because obviously. I think it was the best first day look!
