Transitioning into Fall with an Autumnal Gel Manicure

Autumnal gel manicure

When I was in college, one of my favorite bi-monthly activities was going to get my nails and toes done with Jonathan and Lo at Elegant Nail Spa Waco! I got my first gel manicure ever with Lo who introduced me to the wonders of gel and dip polish and constantly bullied me into having well-kept, colorful nails so she wouldn’t have to look at my horrid natural nails. Jonathan only joined us for the pedicure part, but I still always associate mani/pedis with the two of them. The last time I got my nails done professionally was when I went back to Waco in January 2020 for Jonathan and Urn’s wedding. We were deep in the depths of winter at that time, so I picked a springy-fun polish shade that suited my groomsman dress and the season well. Since then, I’ve been keeping my nails maintained without polish or trying out new nail trends like these Dashing Diva Gloss Ultra Shine Gel Palette stickers that looked really pretty upon application, but didn’t last as long as I’d liked. So for my mom’s birthday, I treated her to a salon manicure inspired by Lo and Jonathan and I got the prettiest autumnal polish duo. I’ve been inspired by the recent trend of painting alternating colors or individual shades onto different nails, so I wanted to try that out with two of my favorite autumnal shades that actually just match all of the clothes in my closet! I got a gel manicure and picked OPI’s ‘You’re the Shade That I Want‘—a bright raspberry color and OPI’s ‘Envy the Adventure,’ which looks like the absolute perfect Baylor green. I have more than a few pink and green dresses and tops and I thought these two polishes would be perfect to last me at least 2 weeks and prepare my style for the upcoming autumnal months! I’m not sure what colors I’ll get at my next manicure, but I’m more than thrilled about my current one!
