May is the start of the summer heat and what I like to call “makeup meltdown”. This month will be all about long lasting bases and soft eyes. To start off, I’ll be using the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in the shade Fresh Beige to achieve medium buildable coverage with a matte finish. This foundation will last all day and night without the need for touch ups and won’t fade throughout heat or humidity. I’m going to be using this as my graduation foundation because it will literally stay on my skin for 18+ hours (tried and tested, results coming soon) and won’t make me look dry or flat. This is a seriously good drugstore buy. Next up is my recently discovered Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to set the skin makeup. This powder is so finely milled that it doesn’t sit on the skin or look cakey and makes everything feel weightless. I’ve already raved about it’s long lasting formula and universal shade here. On the eyes, I’m really excited about matte shadows with lots of lashes. The Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette has cool-toned shadows that blend like a dream and can look really natural on the eyes. The palette is small enough to be travel friendly and each eyeshadow is gorgeous. Last up is the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara– an old favorite. This thickening formula leaves me with extra black and voluminous eyelashes that don’t flake or smudge throughout the day.
