It’s been a few months since I shared a new non-hair related beauty purchase as I haven’t dipped my *brushes* into the makeup pool since before the start of quarantine (although I have been testing the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick and I have many thoughts to share soon!). has stayed mostly the same for the past couple of years, but I sometimes add into the rotation a tool or product I love, with today’s feature being the MakeUp Eraser. Last week I bought the MakeUp Eraser 7-day set from Sam’s Club (here’s a similar pack that comes in the cutest print and includes a hair wrap), which is a kit of seven polyester cloths that remove makeup with just water. Sephora’s description of the product says, “The Original MakeUp Eraser is a premium, patented, polyester cloth safe for all skin types and dermatologist approved. They are double-sided to erase makeup and exfoliate the skin. These cloths are also reusable and machine washable up to 1,000 times and are free of alcohol, oils, astringents, parabens, fragrances, and sulfates.” I’ve been wanting to try a makeup removing cloth since I first saw Face Halos gain traction as makeup wipes are extremely wasteful. I used to use cleansing oils and gels (last seen here and here), but they were messy and left my eyes blurry from getting off all the mascara. I also hated having stained towels after wiping off the product. Enter the MakeUp Eraser, which only requires a pre-wash to activate the stain-resistant fabric. I completely soak the small cloth in warm-hot water and wipe the eraser side all over my face before flipping it over and doing a second round with the exfoliating side (the one with the tag). Because the set comes with seven rounds, I don’t have to worry about reusing them before wash day. I find that the makeup removers take off all my makeup and don’t smear anything around my face. My mascara comes off easily when I hold the cloth down on my eye for about 5 seconds before wiping away. For only $25, I love having a tool that effectively cleans my face with as little waste as possible!
