I’ve always loved pretty shoes (here are two of my most recent footwear purchases) since I wore the same knee high black leather boots everyday in second grade (truly inconvenient for Hawaiʻi weather), but even those beauties don’t compare to these gold Loeffler Randall Penny High Heel Pleated Knot Slides. Loeffler Randall is a brand I’ve admired for years as they constantly release some of the most beautiful shoes, bags, jewelry, and other accessories throughout the year. My favorite (and the most popular) of their shoe styles is the Penny Slide because it’s not only fancy enough to dress up every outfit but also feels buttery soft on the feet. Since I first saw this gold pair on the Loeffler Randall Instagram account, I thought they would be a marvelous addition to my footwear collection so as to incorporate new life and break up the chorus line of pink bow shoes. Don’t get me wrong, I love my pink heels, but I can’t currently think of anything better for a wardrobe than a metallic gold heel for the holiday season. I bought the shoes as an early birthday gift/treat for myself since the last three months have often been a heaping pile of shit and my therapy session appearances increased. I also make a whole deal out of my birthday celebrations (this year I’m doing one night with my friends and a separate one with family) with a heavy focus on what to wear, so these heels match perfectly with the star look of the show. I bought a pink tulle dress with gold stars all over and thought the Loeffler Randall Penny slides would be the perfect finishing touch on my over the top and completely unnecessary festive outfit. I plan on getting a glittery gold manicure next week and finding gold star hair clips to pin down some of my curls and finish the look so these shoes truly shine.
