After almost a full week of the Kakimotos in Waco, we finally moved me out of my apartment (sadness), ate all of the foods, and toured the whole of Baylor before I graduated. This was the first time my whole family had been in Waco together, including the first graduation my grandparents had attended on campus! The first day of the Kakimotos in Waco saw a big tour of McLane stadium and meetups with Lo and Jonathan. On Friday, we started the day with an early breakfast at Magnolia Table where we feasted on eggs, homemade tater tots, and bread baskets. I took the family on a tour of Baylor, stopping by the bookstore (where Megan lost her wallet and almost died of panics), bear habitat, and multiple buildings on campus. They loved seeing Pat Neff, Carroll Science, and Burleson Quad, which were the perfect sights on a clear, sunny day. Unfortunately, Megan’s “lost” wallet derailed our nighttime plans because we spent the majority of the evening searching for it all over the condo and on campus, which was SUPER annoying. Typical Megan trying to ruin the day before my big day. Saturday was my graduation ceremony and graduation lunch at Cajun Craft (the best food in Waco) with some of the people closest to my family! The highlight of the Kakimotos in Waco was seeing all of my family members and friends meeting for the first time. We finished my celebration day with a big family dinner at Casa De Castillo before passing out in exhaustion. On Sunday, we said goodbye to my dad’s cousin and his family with brunch and shopping and spent the remainder of the day cleaning out my apartment. Monday saw more cleaning and packing and I said goodbye to the remainder of my friends and was a pool of tears forever. Just one more flight and we’re home bound!
