The End of the First Year

I finally finished my freshman year at Baylor! I can’t believe how fast the year has gone by, even though time often dragged. I have learned so much about myself and the world around me throughout my first year and I will treasure the memories I made forever. It was hard to transition from a life in Hawaiʻi to a college in Waco, but I know I’m a stronger person because of it. I learned how to deal with a roommate, how to balance five classes with marching band, how to make friends in a whole new place, and how to live on my own. Although it seems like it would be easier if I had gone to school back home, I do not regret my decision to come to Texas. Going to a university away from everything I’ve known has brought me more knowledge and skills than I could ever have in Hawaiʻi. However, now that the year is over, I can’t wait to go home!
