The Case for Coral

Top: Covergirl, Bottom: Maybelline

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you would know that I tend to stray towards blue toned red and pink lip colors. I usually try to avoid any warm tones like oranges and corals because I’ve always felt that they don’t suit me well. As spring and summer approaches, I’ve pulled out any coral colors in my makeup stash to try and sort them out. I’ve got two drugstore offerings and they’re both stunning in the packaging. The first is the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in 235, which is a glossy twist up balm stick with no scent. The texture can leave the lips quite patchy and that’s something I don’t like about the product. Despite that fact, it’s very moisturizing and the color is actually wearable because of the sheer formula. The second is a Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 515 Coral Crush, which is a moisturizing lipstick. This one leans more towards a red than coral, but it’s actually very nice. I will be pulling this one out during the warmer months to add a pop of color to my slightly tanned face!

Which lip color do you like better?
