Urban Outfitters top, American Eagle skirt (similar here), J.Crew shoes, Madewell bag
I used to reach more for loose fitting clothes that concealed every part of my body in every dressing situation. Anything too form-fitting has been the enemy (10 year old me who exclusively wore skin-tight Bebe tank tops cringes) for the past couple years until I recently started branching out and picking pieces I wouldn’t normally wear. One piece in particular that I just bought is this blue crop top from Urban Outfitters I instantly loved when I saw it online. Any smaller piece of clothing is what I usually avoid like the plague, but this blue crop top features a smocked band at the waist and ruffled trim down the arms and across the bottom—two features I love as a girly girl. I would never pick a short and low cut top or dress to wear to work, but I styled this blue crop top over a half camisole I got from a local store called In My Closet. The cami prevents any type of boob slippage and also ties the top in with the skirt. Speaking of, I also wore my favorite black and cream American Eagle leopard miniskirt I bought years ago. It appears I’ve never written about this skirt, but it’s one of my favorite affordable purchases in the past couple years. I wore the skirt high meeting my natural waist to cover any skin the top might miss. I think this outfit is appropriate for work and other daytime activities, as well as transitioned into night. If I were going out (rest in peace, Tchin Tchin nights with Conor and Parker), I would wear this outfit sans cami because I do love a good cleavage! I finished the look with these black patent Mary Jane flats and my favorite oversized Madewell tote!
