The Beach Bum Beauty Bag

In the past, I never liked going to the beach- the sand stuck to every crevice, the salt water would rush up my nose, and I’m deathly afraid of fish/sharks/anything that swims. Despite my previous hatred of the ocean, I’ve been swimming (and kind of surfing) a lot lately! When I go the beach I make sure to have a pouch of beauty goodies that I can depend on when my hair is sticky and my naked face is exposed.

I always have sunscreen with me no matter what I’m doing in the daytime. The one I like to use right now is the Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen. This is a face and body cream that protects and covers my skin so that I don’t develop melanoma or intense burns. I make sure to reapply my sunscreen throughout the day so I can tan rather than burn. To keep my skin natural but with a hint of coverage, I add the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Ochre. The base has a light coverage but looks like I’m not wearing anything while protecting my face. I dab a bit of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard on any excess redness or blemishes to keep my skin looking flawless without products caked on. Bobby pins are a must in any ocean-related recreational activities to keep my hair out of my face. The Secret pH Balanced Antiperspirant keeps me smelling nice and feeling fresh all day, even if I haven’t found a shower. The Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss is lightweight and lasts on the lips without the need for touchups.
