After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Baylor Athletics finally released the 2024 Baylor Football schedule two days ago! The upcoming season’s schedule is the first one without T*xas and Oklahoma since Big 12 Conference play began in 1996 as the two teams officially join the SEC (thank all of the gods for this goodbye!). The Bears alternate playing their conference opponents at home and away every other year, and this year’s 2024 Baylor schedule is far less kind to Baylor than last year. Whereas the 2023 season saw a record 8 home games, where Baylor Athletics’ Jerry Hill (papa) said “The eight home games is the most in program history, and the four straight to open the year at home marks the most consecutive home games to start a season since the 2013 Big 12 Championship season,” the 2024 Baylor schedule reverts back to an even 6 and 6 home vs. away games. Baylor will face all of the new Big 12 Conference members: Utah (who they played and nearly beat last season), Colorado, BYU, and Houston (another of which they fell to in heartbreaking fashion in 2023), all on the road aside from their challenge against the Cougars. The 2024 Baylor squad will have many questions to answer once Fall approaches, but I’m more than ready for football season to begin!
