Steve Madden Combat Boots

I’ve loved boots since I received my first pair in second grade. I wore that size 4 faux-leather knee-high pair with every tie-dye shirt, denim skirt and floral dress I had. I was obsessed with the way they looked and felt even though the fabric made my legs sweat in the 80 degree weather. As I entered middle school, I graduated to a pair of Forever 21 combat boots, which I religiously sported with an all-black ensemble (those were the emo days) featuring lots of lace and sheer pieces. Freshman and sophomore years saw fresh combat boots from Nordstrom Rack paired with my favorite Africa beanie. I’m thankful those outfits weren’t documented as much as my current ones are because why the hell did I wear a beanie during August in HawaiĘ»i? Well whatever, that was my style and I thought I was pretty badass in my black buckle boots with silver hardware. I wore those boots till their death in 2012 and found a love for cute strappy flats and sneakers. Although booties have been on trend for the past few seasons, I’ve been reminiscing on my favorite boots and have searched for the perfect pair. I found my fall/winter boot in the Steve Madden Troopa Combat Boots– an almost identical style to my favorite ones from middle and high school. With five stars from 75 reviews and affordable price, I snatched the pair up instantly. They’re buttery soft and extremely comfortable. The leather isn’t too stiff where they would crush my calves, but they hold their shape well. I’m looking forward to wearing them with leggings and sweaters for casual days and jeans and long sleeve blouses on dressier occasions.
