Abercrombie and Fitch top via Poshmark, Banana Republic dress via Poshmark, MaryJaneTbilisi shoes, Target hair clips
As you may have noticed from my past several fashion posts (here, here, and here), I’m truly discovering my style through colorful pieces and layered outfits! I used to think that the only way to style an outfit was by picking a top and bottom that matched, or by selecting a pretty dress to wear on its own. In my mind, layering was only for the coldest weather and/or for vacations in Waco to visit my best friends! I thought I had to wear tank tops under turtlenecks under sweaters under coats over thick denim and boots for the proper way to mix and match pieces. Thankfully I discovered layering in Hawai’i temperatures and how to put outfits together with multiple pieces and without overheating throughout the day! This outfit above is a perfect spring ready look with two secondhand clothing items I purchased on Poshmark. I bought the white eyelet Banana Republic dress because I thought it would be beautiful for any type of work, but I quickly realized that it’s great for layering over and under other outfit items! For example, I absolutely love pairing it with my spring ready lavender tie top from Abercrombie and Fitch that I also ordered from a seller on Poshmark. This top has easily become one of the most worn items in my closet as it’s great for work and for play. I love how the silhouette of the dress isn’t lost under the top despite the waistline ending a bit higher than the tied bottom. Making the outfit even more spring ready, I threw on my absolute favorite pair of Mary Jane flats from MaryJaneTbilisi on Etsy (these are the best quality shoes I’ve ever owned!), which I wear with almost every single outfit as well as my hot pink hair clips from the children’s section at Target. I love this outfit and you’ll see me in it multiple times this season!
