As you all may know, I make a whole deal out of my birthday (think Jess from New Girl with fewer expectations…but still crying on the couch) and the first step in achieving my birthday goals is finding the perfect outfit! This year, I focused solely on glitz with neutrals and gold being my color palette of choice. I found the most amazing sparkly star dress from Free People that’s everything I ever wanted for my celebratory outfit. The dress is completely sheer and made of a tull-esque mesh sewn in layers. I love how the sparkly star dress is a muted pink, which, being covered in glittery gold stars was just the right amount of too much. I wore a nude slip dress underneath to hide all my lady bits and suck everything in and I don’t think the beige shade was noticeable at all. I’ve always loved gold and once I decided to purchase the Loeffler Randall Penny heels (still my favorite shoes I’ve ever purchased), I knew the dress had to feature the same or a similar metallic shade. This outfit was ideal for my pre-birthday extravaganza where my friends and I started at dinner and moved on to drinks and clubbing quickly. Surprisingly, the shoes were the most comfortable pair of heels and the lightweight sparkly star dress fabric kept me cool throughout the sweaty night. I would like to eventually find a pale pink shoulder bag that’s covered in feathers and has a gold chain strap to match the dress and shoes because I went with my white Kate Spade satchel that probably wasn’t the best pairing. Either way, the sparkly star dress was a hit and I can’t wait to wear it to the next big celebration and with the right hair and bag accessories!
