I’ve loved Valentine’s Day since I was young whether I had a crush on someone (I almost always did, Kaiʻolu can confirm) or I was in a relationship (far less often) because I love the celebration of all love, the pink and red colors of candies and decor, and listening to my most emo A Fine Frenzy no matter my mood! When I was a kid, I adored the tiny candy grams my classmates gave out in school and I’ve always received boxes of Diamond Head Chocolate graham crackers and Oreos and chocolate covered strawberries from my dad. When I was (mostly) a single gal in college, my dear friend Krista showered our Japanese class with sweet handwritten notes and candies to enjoy while we ignored all of our sensei’s teachings—still one of my favorite memories of our friendship at Baylor to this day! Unsurprisingly, my closet is full of pink and red and bows and hearts—the traditional Valentine’s Day garb—which all make for perfect love day-esque girly looks. I went into the office on Valentine’s Day and while I wasn’t the bearer of V-day treats and notes as I was last year, I still wanted to celebrate with my extra pink and red outfit. I wore a similar version of this look last April in this post, which was a slightly more Spring-y font than in this one. Back when I shopped at Zara, I purchased this baby pink ribbed knit dress that fits like a glove and works well in any season. The ribbed dress is a sleeveless version of this long sleeve baby blue one I also wear as often as possible under and over other pieces in my closet. I love the dresses because they’re easy to layer with and they can be made into countless outfits as dresses, tops, or skirts depending on how I style them! For the ultimate Valentine’s Day layered look, I wore one of my favorite red knit cropped camis over the dress and under a berry pink Uniqlo sweater through which button holes I threaded purple ribbons into bows. I layered two of my charm necklaces and tons of bracelets and rings before hanging dangly pink and red heart earrings my mom bought for me in my lobes! The outfit needed a bit more color, so I reached for my Nike Air Force 1s with pink, orange, yellow, and white shades to match my white frilly ankle socks. And if I didn’t look enough like an overgrown girl, I styled my hair in two small half-up space buns!
