Retro in Red

Retro in red

Urban Outfitters sweater (old, last seen here), Urban Outfitters pants, Cole Haan shoes

A while back (aka last Fall) I went on a full-blown spending spree after obsessively scrolling through TikTok and seeing all of the cute outfits girls were putting together. After I lost my general heft of weight, I wasn’t sure what I wanted my personal style to be like moving forward. I was dressing fairly boring and lazily with most of my tops being cropped t-shirts from Brandy Melville and on the bottoms a rotation of straight-legged jeans (none of which fit me quite right). Don’t get me wrong and also don’t tell anyone, but I still wear my Brandy tops on the weekends and when I want to layer them over or under something else, however they aren’t shirts I should’ve been wearing on the regular rotation. When I discovered TikTok users like Carla Rockmore (an absolute fashion icon) who put together outfits like artwork, I wanted to step up my shopping and styling game just a lil. Enter these retro red plaid pants with strips of yellow, purple, and pink. Aren’t they absolutely to die for? I was never into retro trends like flared pants or bright colors before I started to branch out with my clothing and accessory selections, but I’m loving the look! I’m also sure retro isn’t the right term to use for a normal pair of plaid pants, but the pops of color woven throughout the legs are just so fun to look at! I wore this outfit a long time ago when I first purchased the pants (they’re in my Autumnal haul TikTok from November!), but I can’t get over how much I love the simple look. I paired the pants with an old Urban Outfitters cropped sweater that’s perfectly cozy and hits right where the pant rise begins. To bring in some of the pink in the plaid, I finished the outfit with my old as shit Cole Haan mules in a muted pink/beige tone. I hope you enjoy the look!
