I recently had my school’s prom the other day and of course my favorite part was getting ready for the event! I wore a cobalt blue dress (stay tuned for tomorrow’s post) so I decided to go a bit smokey on the eyes. To find inspiration, I watched nearly every video on Lisa’s channel where I found this tutorial for a classic smokey eye. I started off by applying a creamy concealer all over my lid and dusting a bit of powder on top as a base. For shadows, I used two shades: Bobbi Brown Frappe Eye Shadow on the lid and NARS Bali Eye Shadow in the crease. Frappe is a mid-tone brown that is a shade darker than my actual skin color, which makes it the perfect neutral lid shade. I didn’t want to apply a black shadow on my eyes so I went with Bali, which is a cool toned gray. To create more smokiness, I went for the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Liner in Black and I took that all over the upper and lower lashline, smudging as I applied it. I curled my lashes with my Shu Uemura S Curler and I used two coats of the Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara in Black. Because the shadow can emphasize any imperfections, I used two pumps of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 5 and touched up any blemishes with my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. I wanted to use a neutral blush, so I reached for the Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Petale and paired that with my Bare Minerals Lipstick in Get Ready.
I hope you like the look!
