Packing for My First Trip to Texas in 8 Months

First time in Texas in 8 months!

I graduated from college nearly a year ago and haven’t been back to Texas in 8 months, so you can imagine my excitement as I fly to Waco on Friday! I’m primarily going back to the Lone Star State (I hate myself for typing that) to play a part in my first wedding role ever as one of Jonathan’s groomspeople. Sometimes I like to think back at how terrified I was of him and how much he hated me when we first met! Such memories! I somehow convinced Jonathan to be my friend (probably through snacks and our shared hatred of most people) and he and I + Lo and have been the best of friends ever since. Because I haven’t been to Texas in 8 months, reuniting with not only Jonathan and Lo, but also the rest of my remaining friends at Baylor will be the best treat. I’ll be a Waco visitor for 10 days, so packing properly for my first return to Texas in 8 months is extremely important. Of course, I first packed my groomsperson dress so as not to forget the only clothing item that matters, and I made sure to add the dress I’ll wear to the rehearsal and dinner. I obviously need at least one top option per day, so I picked an assortment of lightweight sweaters (it should be in the 40s-60s while I’m there) including my favorite beige and maroon striped Joie one (similar here) as well as five blouses. I’m bringing one pair of jeans and my true blue denim skirt for the days where I want to cover up on top and finish the look with my Cole Haan suede booties. I finished the clothing options with a long sleeve wrap dress and brought some workout clothes in the event that Lo forces me to go to the SLC with her. I packed the nude heels I’m wearing to the wedding, my most beloved Loeffler Randall pair for the rehearsal, and my new pink crocodile flats. In went the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC (I still don’t know how wedding accessories work) and my diffuser so I can craft my perfect ringlets for the special day. I’ll finish adding my makeup and books before I leave on Friday! Here’s hoping I don’t forget anything…
