ʻŌiwi Wana Tee

My dad’s friend David created the clothing brand ʻŌiwi Ocean Gear in 2000 and I’ve collected numerous t-shirts, loose tops, and jackets as we’ve visited his store. We’ve shopped at his former location in Ward Warehouse (rip) for a few years and have purchased every t-shirt design for our friends and ourselves to sport from Hawaiʻi to Texas. David carefully crafts his pieces with drawings of paddlers, waʻa (canoe), kapa patterns, the Hawaiian flag, native plants, and more. My favorite is his dolman style tops for women including the Wana Tapa Dolman tee I’m wearing above. The loose fabric is comfortable without losing its shape and the wana is is placed on both the front and back of the blouse. I also have their Ulu Dolman tee, which is equally soft and beautiful and receives compliments whenever I wear it! Although David’s shop closed with the deconstruction of Ward Warehouse, all of his pieces are available online at his store here. Head over to browse his collection of t-shirts, windbreakers (post coming soon!), board shorts, hats, rash guards, leggings, tank tops, stickers, and more!
