While visiting Australia two summers ago, I learned a lot about the country, its people, and the food they enjoy eating. Of course my journey ‘down under’ resulted in me buying 20 bags of chocolate and a quick bite of Kanga Bangas (kangaroo burgers). My love for all things Australia has not dwindled and increased as I made my way to Tucker and Bevvy– an Australian brekkie and brunch cafe.
Tucker and Bevvy is a tiny restaurant with a lot to offer the people of Hawaii. From Tim Tam waffles (featured above) to Italian baked eggs, T&B serve brunch items that are sure to satisfy any hungry guest! My family and I shared the Tim Tam Waffle, was a breakfast item from heaven. The waffle was topped with crushed up cookies, smooth vanilla ice cream, syrup, and Tim Tams that melted upon contact with my salivating mouth. For my breakfast entree, I ordered the Roast Beef Hash which was possibly the most delicious savory breakfast I’ve ever eaten. There were loads of Prime Rib roast chunks on the bottom served with roasted fingerling potatoes mixed with red onions, and topped with two poached eggs. Although the mixture of prime rib and eggs seems weird, it was an amazing combination. Other noteworthy meals are the Italian Baked Eggs, the Aussie Brekkie, and Mushroom Rosti!
If you’re in the mood for a different breakfast experience with a twist, head on over to Tucker and Bevvy- quite possibly the best breakfast restaurant on the island.
