Look, I’m changing up the background of a fashion post for once in my life! I forced Megan to take a picture of my outfit (mom got a break from that duty and my criticism on this day) full of new everyday basics at my mom’s school because I needed to capture all of these pieces together. I’ve had to purchase lots of new clothes over the past several months and these new everyday ones are some of the comfiest and easiest to pair with other options! Especially on weekends and days where I have lots to do and want to wear what feels best, I go for the pieces that aren’t restricting or elaborate (and obviously these aren’t at all). I bought this plain white Mango tee during the early months of COVID when I learned how affordable and simple most of the brand’s pieces are. Mango is a Barcelona-based Mediterranean fashion brand that focuses on basics and slightly trendy options for everyone in the family. I picked this white tee because it goes with everything and is slightly fitted without being too tapered like most women’s tees. I styled the new everyday basic by tying it into a knot around my natural waist to highlight my shape. I paired the shirt with these perfect blue Levi’s 501 shorts that fit me like a glove! I’ve been on the hunt for denim shorts for almost a year and these are exactly what I wanted. They’re high waisted with slight stretch and are a true blue wash. For less than $40, the shorts are a steal! I’ll usually go for my old pair of pastel pink Cole Haan driving loafers when I’m going out on the weekends, but these brand new Nike Renew In-Season Training Sneakers are a fun retro pick instead! They have yellow rubber logos on the sides and pale blue accents on the back that feel fun and cyclical of old trends. I especially love how they look with anything denim and blue or white! The last of my new everyday basic pieces is this small crossbody zip tote from Madewell that my mom generously lent me for my out of work time. I only ever want saddle-colored leather caryalls and this one is the small crossbody version of my everyday giant Madewell tote! I can fit my notebook (which is the only object that matters to me), small wallet, makeup bag, external battery, charging cable, and hand sanitizer in the bag with space to spare and I love it! Stay tuned for more inevitable pictures of these pieces because they’re not going away anytime soon!
