At the start of my senior year, I decided to film and compile snippets from my everyday life into a One Second Everyday video! One Second Everyday is a video diary app that creates a film out of the short videos from the user’s daily life. The app was founded as a way to remember the small details of everyday through visuals and audio. While it’s nice to collect pictures of daily events, videos capture even more minute features than stills ever could. I love One Second Everyday because it easily mashes all of my daily bits together to form the sweetest short movie I can add music to and enjoy for years to come. One of my friends made the same video last year and when I saw her final project before the summer time, I knew I wanted to create one as well for my last year in college. I love journaling and daily blogging about my experiences, but sometimes I forget what goes on in the nitty gritty days. Filming mini clips forces me to leave my house and engage in more activities with my family and friends while remembering a distinct moment in each time we spent together. I started the video on the first day of my senior year and finished it when I walked across the stage to receive my diploma. Some of my favorite memories are in this video, such as my many lunches with Lo and Jonathan and the Thanksgiving trip to New York that I took with Brandon and Parker. After compiling the final video, I laughed and cried at all of the lovely moments I collected with all of the people who mean so much to me both at home and at school. If anything, this One Second Everyday video taught me to be thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life who I know I’ll cherish for the rest of my years.
