Mixed Berry and Ribbed

Mixed berry ribbed look

Zara dress (old, similar here), Uniqlo sweater, Zara scarf (old, similar here), Amazon socks, MaryJaneTbilisi shoes

For much of my college life I shopped exclusively at J. Crew and Zara—spending all of my Baylor Athletics paychecks on tops, earrings, and colorful high heels. Zara wasn’t as expensive as it is now, four years later (I gasp when I say that), but I was extraordinarily financially irresponsible with my shopping habits back then! Ironically now that I’m a full adult making a real income, I almost only shop secondhand at Savers or on Poshmark, which both have some of the best shopping deals I’ve ever seen. I can luckily buy some of my favorite brands (still J.Crew, not so much Zara) in used and/or new condition with all of my pieces under $50! Back when I did shop at Zara though, I purchased this baby pink ribbed knit dress that fits like a glove and works well in any season. The ribbed dress is a sleeveless version of this long sleeve baby blue one I also wear as often as possible under and over other pieces in my closet. I love the dresses because they’re easy to layer with and they can be made into countless outfits as dresses, tops, or skirts depending on how I style them! For this mixed berry ribbed look I went for a dress-turned-skirt version by buttoning my beloved magenta Uniqlo (also ribbed) cardigan on top and covering the dress’ mock neck with a multicolor pink, purple, orange, green, and yellow satin scarf from Zara. The outfit may softly yell flight attendant, but I’m obsessed with how the mixed berry colors look together when styled with more pink in my soft ruffled ankle socks and these yellow Mary Jane shoes that I wear multiple times each week! Thankfully the cost per wear of my old Zara purchases made each piece add up to pennies!
