Michael Bennett to the Eagles

I boycotted the NFL last season in an effort to raise awareness of the league’s blacklisting of Colin Kaepernick. I will continue to turn any and all NFL games off my TV until Kaepernick earns his rightful spot back on a team, but I can’t deny supporting some of my favorite athletes. I quietly and indirectly cheered for Seattle’s Michael Bennett, Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes (obviously, even though he barely played), Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota, New England’s Martellus Bennett, Oakland’s Marshawn Lynch, and Philadelphia’s Chris Long. Today, the Seahawks traded Michael Bennett to the Eagles as they receive a seventh round pick, fifth round pick, and receive WR Marcus Johnson. Bennett played five seasons in Seattle in one of the league’s praised defensive lineups. During his time with the Seahawks, Bennett notched 126 tackles, 39 sacks, one pass defended, and four fumbles. Well I guess I better cheer for the Eagles in the next few seasons…
