May Favorites

This month has been full of ups and downs; beginnings and endings. I had my last ‘firsts’ and left my high school career behind. In the chaos of graduations and ceremonies, I used a handful of products that are truly fantastic.

I picked up the Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil a couple of weeks ago after I ran out of my favorite one from The Body Shop. The oil isn’t necessarily cooling but it feels smooth and silky on the skin. It thoroughly removes all traces of makeup including waterproof liner and mascara with just a pump and a half! I purchased the half ounce travel sized bottle to test out and I will definitely be picking up the full size! The L’Occitane Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel (I’m sensing a ‘cooling’ theme going on here) is a matte hand cream that really packs in the hydration. I never used hand creams, but I’ve been learning that moisture is key in order to keep youthful looking hands. This one is perfect for hot summer days because of its thin consistency and powdery finish. I’m bringing out my favorite Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Ochre, which is perfect for hot days in the sun. The SPF 20 in the product allows it to be buildable throughout the day while providing decent coverage. I love to slap this on before I go to the beach or to hang out with friends so that I protect my skin and look a bit more polished! The Urban Decay Perversion Mascara has been the only mascara I’ve used for the past few months. It adds the most insane volume and length to my lashes without looking fake or overly-clumpy. I love how black my eyelashes look when I’m wearing this mascara and on no-makeup-makeup days I pop on a bit of this, some foundation, and a smudge of lipstick before I’m out the door! Last but not least is my favorite spring/summer lip color in the form of the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Honey. This balm is lightweight but packs a punch of pigment on the lips. The color is a soft pink that looks natural and pretty for everyday. It has an average 1-2 hour lasting power but the texture and color make up for the lack of staying power!
