Leaving Home (Again)

And here it is…my last day home. I’ve been back for the past three months and have enjoyed every minute of soaking in paradise. I love going to Baylor, don’t get me wrong, but my heart and soul is in Hawaiʻi. This summer I was fortunate enough to spend quality time with family and friends; swim in crystal clear oceans for hours on end; hike up the sides of mountains (even when I was too afraid to continue!); work with the most amazing people at a new job; and rediscover how lucky I am to exist in the most beautiful place on earth. Although I didn’t accomplish everything on my summer bucket list (see here), I will always treasure the memories I made with my loved ones. This time around, I’ll be traveling back to Texas with my family as I’ll be moving into a new apartment (my home for the next three or so years) so there’s lots of work to be done! I’ll also prepare for six new classes and two part time jobs in the athletic department! Goodbyes are always difficult, but the promise of a new year filled with fresh opportunities and friendships will keep me going. A hui hou, my Hawaiʻi. See you at Christmas!
