Former Baylor F Johnathan Motley went undrafted during the 2017 NBA Draft, but signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Mavericks for up to two years. I wrote about his two-way contract here and have been watching him excel in the summer league ever since. With only 0.3 seconds left in OT during the Orlando NBA Summer League title game against the Detroit Pistons, Motley scored the winning jump shot, helping the Mavs prevail 83-81. Motley scored a total of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the title game, including the game-winner, to make his mark on the NBA Summer League. Here’s hoping that Motley’s magic helps him sign a true contract in the NBA!
