January Favorites

The first month of 2015 has gone by extremely quickly and although I don’t have a whole lot of favorites, the handful I have are impeccable.

Let’s start off with skin. I’ve experimented with multiple moisturizers for the past few months but none had really stood out to me other than the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. This moisturizer is lightweight, oil-free, and doesn’t leave my skin looking like I slapped on a batch of grease. It hydrates some of the dry patches around my face without being overly moisturizing. The gel is light like a serum or a primer and dries immediately on the skin. This is definitely the best moisturizer I’ve ever used and I can’t wait to purchase a new bottle when I run out! This month was all about the cream concealers and I have two for different parts of the face. For blemishes and redness, I have my trusty Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC3, which I took with me to Texas, Utah, and everywhere else I go. The concealer is hard and needs a bit of warmth to become malleable, but it covers everything and lasts all day long without fading. From dark marks to huge spots, Secret Camouflage has got me covered (literally). I discovered a new undereye concealer in the form of the Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector in Light-Medium. This hydrating, light formula brightens the undereye area without any cakiness or creasing. It looks natural on the skin and makes me look like I’ve had a good eight hour rest. Eyeliner has become a go-to for everyday and I’ve been in love with the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Double Ended Eye Pencil in the shades Black Market and Tornado. I love applying the matte black Black Market in my tightline and smoking out my upper and lower lashlines with eggplant Tornado. The liners last all day long with no flaking or smudging and are intensely pigmented. For the lips, I have a pencil and a gloss; two lip products I never thought I would love. The NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien is a cool-toned pink with a hint of golden shimmer running throughout. The pencil is easy to apply and leaves a light stain on the lips while feeling lightweight and balmy. My gloss of choice in January has been the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss in Sesso, which I received in my Urban Decay Naked On the Run Palette. The gloss is non-sticky, feels like a balm on the lips, and has great color payoff. What more could you want from a lip product?
