Baylor football has a history of outstanding running backs, most recently including the likes of Lache Seastrunk, Terrance Ganaway, Shock Linwood, Johnny Jefferson and Terence Williams. The backs have been strong, agile athletes known for juking defenders and leaving everyone in the dust. With Linwood’s graduation and Williams and newbie Abram Smith out with injuries, the Bears are in need of capable ball carriers, preferably with lots of experience. That’s where former Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd comes in. Hurd recently announced his transfer to Baylor where he’ll be eligible to play in 2018. Despite some issues in the past, Hurd is a phenomenal freak athlete at 6’4 and 240 lbs. As a Vol, Hurd recorded 589 carries for 2,638 yards and 20 TDs. I’m excited to see how coach Rhule and co. will utilize his skills in the 2018 season!
