Hawaiʻi All-State Marching Band in NYC

In 2014 I was lucky enough to perform in the Rose Bowl Parade as a member of the Hawaiʻi All-State Marching Band aka Na Koa Aliʻi. All-State features hundreds of local high school musicians who combine to create a spectacular sight and sound. The group has been under the direction of my hero/grandpa figure/music mentor John Riggle for over a decade until he passed the baton to director Henry Fu. This year All-State is performing in the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, which is a great opportunity for Hawaiʻi kids to get a taste of the world outside of the rock. Tune in tomorrow morning to see some of my best friends perform in a parade they’ll never forget!
