Grown Up Girly Pastels and Florals

Grown up girly pastel outfit

Good Luck Gem top (old), LOFT sweater, American Eagle jeans, Cole Haan shoes, Kate Spade bag (on sale!)

It appears that I need to diversify my closet soon because I have a steady rotation of blues, pinks, and neutrals in every fashion post (not that I’m unaware—I do look through my wardrobe every day)! Of course I also love a good pattern with polka dots and florals being my two most worn (last seen here and here). Today’s look is a grown up girly take on a combination of pastels and florals paired with my favorite accessories and true blue jeans. I bought this cropped floral Good Luck Gem tank top sometime last year and loved how young and reminiscent it was of a 60s print on a 90s frame. The tank top itself is extremely casual and could be styled with a pair of high-waisted denim shorts and white converse to pull of the ultimate throwback look, but I wanted to make it more of a grown up girly outfit, so adjustments had to be made. To make the top much more office/work appropriate, I covered up with my mom’s slightly off white cardigan from LOFT, which fits like a drapey dream! The cardigan is also cropped a bit, so it hits closer to my natural waist and right above the hem of the tank. Of course I had to wear my favorite high-waisted blue jeans from American Eagle (when am I not wearing these?), which is the best pair I’ve ever purchased, and threw on my pink crocodile Cole Haan mules. I also wore my pink Kate Spade medium backpack to add color cohesion to this grown up girly office outfit and kept my curls loose and down to make the look feel more youthful. If I had hot pink hair clips, I would’ve added those at my crown!

We’ve actually been meaning to talk to you about your dress code/fashion code violations at the office.
