Although I don’t wear eyeshadow as often as I used to (I used to do a smokey eye every morning in college—can you even believe?), I still love applying beautiful shades to my lids whenever the situation calls for them. There’s no beauty situation more fun to me than one where I can play with as many colors and textures as possible to enhance my hair and outfit. For my early birthday party with my Hawaiʻi best friends, I opted for a gorgeous cotton black FRAME mini dress with the puffiest of sleeves paired with perfect gold kitten heels from Lilly Pulitzer (outfit links in this post!). My makeup had to match my ensemble while fitting with the holiday theme of golden metallics and colorful accents. I chose to style my hair in voluminous, albeit slightly frizzy loose curls to play up the texture of the dress! For my makeup, I covered my dark circles and blemishes with my forever favorite NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Madeleine and set the concealer with a tap of the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent (I don’t wear foundation or tinted moisturizer anymore!). My base was complete with a heavy dusting of the Milani Baked Blush in Petal Primavera before I went for the golden eyes. I created this gorgeous golden eye look with my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette (I swatched all of the shades in this super old 2014 post!) by applying Honey Pot all over the lid, Cashmere Bunny in the crease, and Chocolate Martini in the outer corners. I also added some Cashmere Bunny under my lashline for more definition. After the eyes were pau, I filled my brows with L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Dark Brunette and applied lashings of my favorite L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara, which is just as good if not better than my old beloved luxury mascaras. I finished the makeup with my tried and true Revlon Kiss Balm Lip Balm in Berry Burst.
