The launch of Rihanna’s beauty line caused a stir in both the beauty community and nearly every person/makeup lover in existence. I love Rihanna’s music and I was intrigued to see the collection of products in her first original line. While listening to “Cockiness” on repeat (what a brilliant piece), I scrolled through her beauty assortment and selected the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer as my single item. Each product focuses on achieving natural, flawless skin and bold eyes- a signature look for Rihanna herself. Her foundations are full coverage and dewy, the range of highlighter and contour shades is extensive and each released palette is colorful and diverse. I most appreciated how Rihanna brought out a vast range of foundation shades so every woman can find the perfect match for herself. While many beauty lines only make light-light medium shades of base products, Rihanna aimed to create a product for every woman, whether her skin be pale as snow or dark as the moon. An inclusive collection like Fenty is especially important in today’s society as many women are still kept out of fashion and beauty lines because they aren’t seen as the standard shade (white/beige) or size (small/medium). I didn’t purchase a foundation because I’m extremely dedicated to my favorite Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer, but if I’m ever in need of a product with more coverage, I don’t doubt Fenty would have the be selection for me. I love the Lip Luminizer because it’s the perfect universal shade for almost any skin tone. It’s a pinky-peach gloss with gold shimmer, which emphasizes the pout and makes the lips plumper. I love how it blends into my lip color and adds a hint of tint and moisture without being sticky or gloopy. For only $18, the lip gloss is a steal and I know it will be a handbag essential during the holiday season!
