Last year I discovered the wild magic of professional mani/pedis and I don’t know how I ever lived without them. I don’t get my nails done as often as I would love to (I’m still a ‘broke’ college kid aka I only buy clothes and food), but I treated myself to a gel manicure and pedicure with my boss/friend Lo. She’s gone to Elegant Nail Spa in Hewitt for years and I’ve always wanted to try it out. The gel manicure cost $35 and the deluxe pedicure I chose was $32, but their services start at $15 and range in special treatments. My full pedicure took at least 35 minutes as Sam, my nail technician didn’t rush on any part. He let my feet soak in the hot bath for 10 minutes, exfoliated my legs and feet, scrubbed the shit out of my dead skin (it was NASTY down there), cleaned my cuticles, wrapped my legs in hot towels as he polished each nail, and applied a foot mask. When it was time for my manicure, Sam paid the same careful attention to each of my fingernails as he trimmed the cuticles and excess skin around my fingers, thoroughly buffed and filed the nails, and added the gel polish. Every nail technician was extremely friendly and talkative while paying exceptional attention to their work. The salon also provides waxing services depending on the clients’ needs. I loved the whole experience at Elegant Nail Spa and I can’t wait to go back!
