If you’ve read my blog for a while, you would notice that I’m all about purchasing beauty products that are luxurious and beautiful. I’m often left with an empty wallet after leaving Sephora or Nordstrom because I bought a new foundation or eyeshadow palette. I love shopping at fancy retail stores, but at times I like to go to my local Target or Walgreens to scour the aisles for amazing dupes that others would normally pass up for a more expensive option. After going to Target enough times, I’ve discovered a healthy number of fantastic beauty products that would rival the selection at Sephora.
My favorite foundation from the drugstore is the L’Oreal True Match Foundation in W3 that’s arguably a dupe for the infamous Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It has a great medium coverage that feels lightweight on the skin while covering the face with a layer of SPF 17. I haven’t found a concealer at the drugstore that I absolutely love, which is why I didn’t include one in the photo. A powder that I’ve been using for years is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Sand Beige. This powder keeps me matte throughout the day without looking cakey when topped up. I like to apply it with a big fluffy brush on my t-zone as to keep the rest of my face looking natural and glowing. For primer, I am obsessed with the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. The consistency of the primer is quite thick without feeling heavy on my face. It dries down to a more natural finish and glides over any blemishes or dry patches. The Revlon Powder Blush in Racy Rose is a gorgeous peachy pink color with a hint of shimmer that looks lovely for an everyday look. It doesn’t look overly powdery on the face and is perfect for any makeup look. Although it’s a bit more expensive than the other products, The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 03 Medium Matte is the perfect bronzer with both warm and cool tones. It’s really blendable and doesn’t disturb the makeup under it. For eyeshadow, I really enjoy using the Revlon Photoready Eyeshadow in Impressionist as an everyday eyeshadow palette. It has a nice highlighter with an amazing cool toned brown and a grey for the crease. The colors are wearable and can go from day to night. I’m a huge fan of the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Black because of its soft texture, which makes it blend incredibly easily. One of my all time favorite mascaras is the Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara in Black. The mascara separates and defines each lash without any clumps at all. It also doesn’t flake or smudge throughout the day even on my oily eyelids. Last but not least, my current favorite lip products are the Revlon Colorburst Matte and Lacquer Balms. The matte balm I have is in the shade Sultry, which is a neutral brown-pink that looks like my lips but better. It lasts 3-4 hours throughout eating and drinking and fades into a nice stain. I picked the Rendezvous lacquer balm because the bright cherry red shade is brightening and perfect for the summer!
