Driving to Malaekahana

On Saturday, Kai‘olu, her younger brother and I drove out to Malaekahana campground to meet up with some of our friends. While we didn’t stay that long, the journey to North Shore was filled with laughter, music and musubis. It takes a good hour and a half to get to Malaekahana and we made a couple of stops to look for food (I promise we weren’t scavenging). After a luckless trip to Tamura’s, we picked up musubis and drinks from Foodland before driving the final leg to the campground. We stayed for an hour or so and ate watermelon with our friends before heading back to town. Even though it took longer to get to Malaekahana than we hoped, seeing our friends for even a short while was worth the drive!
