Color Pops for My Last Basketball Game

On Monday, I said goodbye to one of the places I spent the most time over the past three years as I worked at my last basketball game ever. Working in athletics communications since my sophomore year has been the defining part of my college career as I’ve spent more hours at different sporting events than I have anywhere else (besides actually in school, obviously). Over the weekend, we hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament where I saw the Lady Bears as the No. 1 team in the nation who made their way to the Sweet Sixteen for the 11th consecutive season! One of my favorite parts of working at basketball games is dressing up in fancier attire. Basketball is the only sport where we’re required to wear business appropriate clothing, so of course I whip out all of my cutest dresses and shoes for the season. I chose to sport pops of color with my black ensemble at the game, which is one of my most loved looks (a similar style here). I love wearing black because it’s slimming and classic (and this dress has a lovely plunge neckline!), but looks amazing when paired with more color in accessories. On this specific night, I was a little more smart and wore my favorite pink suede slingback pumps from J.Crew that feature bows on the sides. The other color pop in the outfit comes from my bright and fun yarn ball earrings from J.Crew that I’m obsessed with. Although the earrings and shoes don’t match perfectly, I love how they look when paired up with a neutral base. I even pulled my hair up in a ponytail so my earrings could shine in public. This looks is one of my favorites in general because it makes me feel comfortable and confident and who doesn’t love pops of color?
