The Reese’s Senior bowl is an annual game highlighting senior players from universities all over the country. Played in Mobile, Alabama, the bowl game shows off the biggest and best from top colleges, while fans and NFL scouts keep a close eye on each player. This year, Baylor was represented by All-American OT Spencer Drango, WR Jay Lee, DE Shawn Oakman, and LS Jimmy Landes. All of the BU athletes played for the South team led by Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott, which dominated the North team. Jay Lee was the Senior Bowl’s leading WR with four catches for 49 yards, while Shawn Oakman showed his size and speed with two sacks, one which forced a fumble. NFL scouts were impressed by Spencer Drango’s strength in the trenches and witnessed what all of Baylor Nation has known for the past four years: Drango will be a monster in the pros. The South team defeated its northern counterpart for a final score of 27-16 and Oakman was named the South’s MVP. Congratulations to all four of the Baylor players who rose to the occasion and dominated their final collegiate game.
