Blue Floral Peasant Blouse for A Garden Picnic

Blue floral blouse

LOFT top (on sale!), American Eagle shorts, Kate Spade sunglasses (old)

This post is probably the least important piece of writing in the world at this point, and I debated whether I should even share something this frivolous (and frankly, self-indulgent). Who really cares about what I wore two weeks ago?? Ultimately, I wanted to write this trivial post about my favorite blue floral blouse because it is so easy to get stuck in a web of injustice and violence in the news, and while I’m always trying to remain as informed and up to date as possible, I also believe in having small outlets to enjoy when everything else is horrible. For that reason, I present this blue floral blouse I wore to the birthday picnic my best friends and I threw for Mikayla two weeks ago at Ho Ľomaluhia Botanical Garden. LOFT recently had a giant sale, so I bought several dresses for myself and my mom got me a blue floral peasant blouse with a slight peplum back. I love this style of top because it’s feminine and flowy, but it doesn’t overwhelm me. The collar has a ruffle and ties if I want to use them, and the sleeves are smocked. When shopping for a peasant top like this one, it’s important to buy one that’s true to size, so it doesn’t look like a pillowcase. Because we were outdoors, I wore these high waisted denim shorts I purchased from American Eagle that fit like a glove thanks to their stretch. I finished the look with my favorite pair of sparkly pink Kate Spade sunglasses, my pink Kate Spade backpack (not shown above), and an old pair of brown slippers that are my essential everyday footwear (for function, not fashion obviously). Because it was so hot outside, this outfit was a perfect alternative to the everyday t-shirt and shorts.
