After what seemed like decades of waiting, Baylor fans should be overjoyed to hear about the school’s hiring of Matt Rhule for the head football coach position. Rule had been the head coach at Temple University for four years- compiling back-to-back 10-win seasons with a 2016 America Athletic Conference championship. Born in New York, Rhule played linebacker at Penn State from ’94-’97. His early coaching resume consists of stints at Albright College, Buffalo, UCLA, Western Carolina and Temple before landing his big break as the assistant offensive line coach for the New York Giants. In 2012, Temple brought Rhule back as head coach where he’s compiled a 28-23 record. Rhule is known for coaching all positions on both sides of the ball with titles such as defensive line coach, offensive line coach, special teams coordinator, run game coordinator, quarterbacks coach, tight ends coach, offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach while also coaching baseball. Welcome coach!
