Welcome back to Blogmas Day 4! Today I have a few of my favorite highlights to share with you all. Highlighting is to me, often overlooked as just an extra makeup step. That is definitely not the case! Highlighting and contouring can completely shape the face and create a really defined and pulled together look. There are many different places to apply highlighter, but the main focal points are the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, and on the cupid’s bow (the upper lip). During the winter time as radiant skin is very on trend, highlighter is extremely important.
If you are looking for a natural and subtle bit of light, then Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl is the one for you. The liquid formulation is very easy to blend and doesn’t leave the skin looking greasy. It’s compact and perfect for traveling as the packaging is plastic. The highlight is a pink tint, which makes it especially perfect for those with cool-toned skin.
Moving up a bit on the drama scale, enter Guerlain Meteorites Pearles. This silver tin full of colorful balls is definitely the most I’ve spent on a beauty product. It may seem extremely ridiculous to spend $65 USD on a highlighter, but trust me, it’s worth it! The different colored powder balls add a luminous glow to the face while blurring out any imperfections. The shimmer factor is upped a bit as the powder balls have a decent amount of sparkle.
For the perfect holiday night out highlight, Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in the shade Reverie is absolutely gorgeous. It has quite a bit of sparkle in it, which makes it perfect for those nights where you want to be your skin to be the center of attention. As it is a Chanel product, it’s extremely luxurious with quite a hefty price tag as well. Overall, the powder is beautiful especially on the cheekbones and in the inner corner for a touch of glitter.
