Aloha! My name is Noelle and I’m the face and brain behind This Is Noelle. I started this blog at the end of 2012 when I wanted my own space to create and share pieces of my life. I’m a Hawaiian-Japanese-Chinese-Tongan-Russian-Irish girl from Hawaiʻi and I’m currently a student at Baylor University. When I’m not studying English, I’m working in Baylor’s Athletic Department, interning with the Hawaiʻi Innocence Project, volunteering with College Guild, researching social justice issues, or playing music (I play seven instruments: alto saxophone, ukulele, guitar, bass, oboe, harmonica, and Irish whistle!).
I used to mainly blog about beauty, but I’ve gradually transformed into a lifestyle blogger focusing on style, sports, and social justice. I also sprinkle in a few glimpses of my life at the moment from vlogs to my best English essays. My true passions are incarcerated people in the criminal justice system, victims of police brutality, immigrants/refugees, and high school and college athletes (I coached high school football the summer before my senior year at Baylor!). I hope to one day work for a publication or non profit organization that assists or rehabilitates current prisoners and those who have been released. I strongly believe in protesting and helping people who are oppressed and can’t help themselves. If any of my previously mentioned topics are of interest to you, have a look around this space and stay in contact with me! Mahalo and a hui hou!
