About Me

Aloha! My name is Noelle and I’m the face and brain behind This Is Noelle. I started this blog at the end of 2012 when I wanted my own space to create and share pieces of my life. I’m a Hawaiian-Japanese mixed girl from Hawaiʻi and I’m currently working as the Community Outreach Court Intake/Case Coordinator. When I’m not working in my office, I’m writing about high school football for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser/Hawaii Prep World, contributing to Our Daily Bears, organizing with the Hawaiʻi Abolition Collective, remotely volunteering with College Guild, writing poems, researching social justice issues, and playing music (I play seven instruments: alto saxophone, ukulele, guitar, bass, oboe, harmonica, and Irish whistle!). I used to mainly blog about beauty, but I’ve gradually transformed into a lifestyle blogger focusing on style, sports, and social justice. My true passions are Prison Industrial Complex abolition, cooking, Communism, and football (in no particular order). I hope to one day start my own reentry program for people released from prison and somehow work in the world of sports. If any of my previously mentioned topics are of interest to you, have a look around this space and stay in contact with me!
