Baylor to Face Ole Miss in the 2022 Sugar Bowl

2022 Sugar Bowl

The No. 7 Baylor Football team (11-2) may not be in the final four of the College Football Playoff rankings (those would be No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 4 Cincinnati), but they have nothing to be ashamed of or disappointed about after matching a Baylor football record and transforming their program from 2-7 to 11-2 in one year. Not only have the Bears gone from No. 8 in the preseason Big 12 Conference poll to the 2021 Big 12 Champions, but they’ve also exceeded all expectations as they face No. 8 Ole Miss in a New Years Six match up at the 2022 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The game will air on ESPN on January 1 at 7:45 p.m. (CT) and it will be the second time in 3 years that Baylor will play in the NoLa bowl. The CFP committee showed their spots in the final ranking installment, leaving Baylor out of the top 5 despite the Bears accomplishing all that the 2014 committee berated them for. With the Bears earning wins over 3 top 15 teams and defeating then-ranked No. 5 Oklahoma State to notch their third Big 12 Championship in 8 years, the committee should have seen enough to propel Baylor into the top 5. However, Notre Dame with 0 wins over top 15 teams and no conference title to play in and Ohio State who didn’t even make the conference championship game were placed above Baylor. Because of these rankings, the Bears will challenge the third-best team in the SEC in the 2022 Sugar Bowl. The game should be a sound matchup between offenses and defenses that will play to each others strengths and weaknesses, but we already know Baylor will come out on top! Here’s manifesting a sound Baylor victory (we hate Lane Kiffin and Jeff Lebby) and a top 5 ranking in the final poll of the year!

I see what you did there – pointing out the shortcomings of the committee and the hypocrisy. Nice job !
