Baylor Men’s Basketball in the NIT

For the first time since 2013, Baylor men’s basketball (18-14) was not selected for the NCAA tournament. The selection committee made many questionable picks that left quite a few top teams out of the big dance. Fortunately, the Bears were the first four out of the selection, placing them as a No. 1 seed in the National Invitation Tournament along with fellow top seeds Notre Dame, USC, and St. Mary’s. Baylor will host the first round of the tournament as they face No. 8 Wagner at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Should the Bears defeat the Seahawks, they’ll face the winner of the Nebraska vs. Mississippi State matchup. Baylor won the 2013 NIT title and revealed an even more successful team in the next year, so here’s hoping the Bears have a similar run!
