Baylor MBB/WBB Earn 1 & 2 Seeds in NCAA Tournament

Baylor BB in NCAA tournament

With their final rankings of the year at No. 3 for the Baylor Men’s Basketball team (26-6) and No. 4 for Women’s Basketball (27-6), on today’s Selection Sunday for the upcoming NCAA tournament, the Bears were seeded at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. The NCAA tournament during March Madness is arguably the most exciting time of the year for college sports (although many could argue the end of the college football season is just as thrilling) when 64 Men’s and Women’s teams (each) get a shot at the National Championship (may we never forget last year’s national champs were none other than our Baylor Men’s Basketball squad!). Both teams have luckily been seeded to open the NCAA tournament close enough to home (Waco) with the No. 1 Men—who earned their second consecutive first seed—facing off against No. 16 Norfolk St. in Fort Worth for the East Region and the No. 2 Women—who notched a top 2 seed for the 11th consecutive year—not moving an inch from hosting the First and Second Rounds at the Ferrel Center in the Wichita Region. The latter will challenge No. 15 Hawaiʻi who just won the Big West Conference title. The winner of the Men’s matchup against Northfolk St. (dear l*rd hopefully it’s the Bears) will face off against the winner of the No. 8 North Carolina and No. 9 Marquette game. The Women’s first round champion (AGAIN, please be the Bears) will move on to play against the winner of the No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 10 South Dakota game. Both teams’ brackets are listed below, now let’s win the first two rounds and go on to win the whole damn thing!
