Baylor Jumps Several Spots to No. 11 in AP Poll

Baylor is No. 11

Although the Baylor Football team opened the season unranked with many so-called football “experts” predicting the Bears would finish the season in the bottom half of the Big 12, the Bears have moved up and down the ranks of the Associated Press Top 25 over the past several weeks! Baylor first entered the poll following consecutive wins over West Virginia, now-ranked No. 14 BYU (read my BYU recap here and watch the Cougars game with me and dad!), and the University of Texas (read my most recent recap of the UT game here and watch the Longhorns game with me and dad here!), but after their second loss of the season against unranked TCU, the Bears dropped a handful of spots to No. 18. However, two not-so-great defeats by Oklahoma State and the Horned Frogs didn’t keep Baylor down for long and with another top 15 victory, this one over then-ranked No. 4 Oklahoma, the Bears moved up 7 spots to the No. 11 placement! The Bears’ No. 11 ranking is their highest of the season so far with their record showing wins over 3 of the 4 ranked opponents they’ve played. Aside from one unranked loss, Baylor’s other “quality loss” was to the No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys who could continue to move up in the ranks should they beat Texas Tech this weekend and advance over Oklahoma at Bedlam. If Baylor continues to succeed in their next two games against Kansas State and Texas Tech, they’ll also have nothing to fear in terms of rankings. Of course no game is guaranteed and the next couple of weeks will be extraordinarily difficult matchups, so hopefully Baylor’s coaching staff and players have and are preparing well for the upcoming battles! Kansas State is no walk in the park as they have quality athletes on both sides of the ball and arguably the best QB in the conference, which means lots of screaming and fear in our upcoming reaction video!
