After his hiring in 2017, Baylor football’s head coach Matt Rhule established a collection of experienced coaches for his staff. Many of the coaches worked with Rhule at Temple University, while a handful came from Texas high schools and the NFL. After a rough 1-11 inaugural season, Rhule successfully kept his 2018 recruiting class and coaching staff together with the exception of former receivers’ coach Bob Bicknell who accepted a position with the Cincinnati Bengals following the 2017 season. Rhule recently announced the hiring of former Tennessee Titans’ receivers’ coach Frisman Jackson for the same position with the Bears. Jackson coached the Titans during the 2017 season, but also led the receivers under Rhule at Temple in 2015 and 2016. As the receivers’ coach and passing game coordinator for the Owls, Jackson is familiar with Rhule’s schemes and coaching style. He brings six seasons of NFL experience as a wide receiver himself and coaching history with Akron from 2010-11, Northern Illinois in 2012, and North Carolina State in 2013-14.
