Baylor Football 2018 Recruiting | June

Just 5 months after Baylor hired head football coach Matt Rhule, the former Temple leader already has 15 commits in his bag for the 2018 class. Rhule and co. managed to miraculously recruit a full class within one month of his hiring last January and the staff has quickly continued their recruiting success for next year. On offense, the Bears currently have commits from RBs Stanley Hackett and Joshua Fleeks; WRs Tyquan Thornton, Kalon Barnes, and Jackson Gleeson; TE Ben Sims; OL Casey Phillips, Ylijaah Hall, and Jackson Kimble. It’s worth noting that Baylor still doesn’t have a QB commit and I’m guessing they’ll want two to add in the mix of current play callers Zach Smith, Zack Bennema, Charlie Brewer, and Preston Heard. Smith and Brewer are the only scholarship QBs on Baylor’s roster (along with Anu Solomon who will only have one season of eligibility left), so they’ll be looking for a couple of highly touted athletes for competition. On defense, Baylor has DT Joshua Landry; NB Christian Morgan; S JT Woods and Delarrin Turner-Yell; and CB Mark Milton. The Bears will need a few more DL and LBs in the coming years. There’s still 8 months until 2018 signing day so there’s no need to worry about numbers just yet- for now, Baylor fans only have reason to celebrate the work coach Rhule and his team are putting in!
