BLDWN top (similar here), Topshop jeans (on sale!), Cole Haan shoes, Madewell bag
The office I’m employed at has always featured mostly casual attire, but even I’ve been dressing down since the pandemic began. As more of our attorneys worked from home every day and those of us left are primarily support staff, it seemed unnecessary to continue wearing nice work pants and blouses and professional dresses (what even are these words I’m saying?), so my daily outfits are more focused on comfort and ease. I’ve acquired a few pairs of jeans I truly love (here’s another pair!) that are either from Topshop, Levi’s, or J.Crew and I rotate between those pieces every day. This outfit displays an example of what I’m usually wearing—the basic dark neutrals I love so much and can’t seem to put down when I’m picking my daily looks. I’ll start every outfit with denim as my foundation, whether it’s a skirt or jeans or dress and I add on either a pastel top or other basic dark neutrals in the form of dressy shirts or cardigans. I love a two piece look as much as a perfectly comfy work dress, which is why I wanted to show this outfit in particular as it’s one I feel most cozy in in our freezing cold building. These dark gray Topshop jeans are both stretchy and fitted (somehow?) and they run over my legs easily without constricting me. I styled the jeans with this BLDWN navy ribbed knit top I picked up and am now in love with! My mom has a few similar crewneck tops from Uniqlo like this one, but I love the weight and texture of this dark top, especially tucked in to my jeans. I threw on my favorite navy suede mules from Cole Haan and finished the outfit with my (mom’s) trusty Madewell purse!
